WP Woody Mues

Kampnagel, season 20/21

At the end of 2019, Woody Mues found himself baffled in a discussion with a ‘climate sceptic’. He struggled to find a common basis for dialogue until he burst his bubble and the thought manifested itself:

What if it's actually already long over? When we should no longer be discussing how humanity can be saved, but rather what it could leave behind for eternity. In this play development, Mues and his team question the theme of transience and the enigma:
Why does a person want something they have created to outlive them?

It is now 2320 and for hundreds of years an artificial intelligence has been performing on stage, searching for the quintessence of human expression. Without spectators, it is condemned to repeat its message in an endless loop, day after day, in a visibly tragic construction of nature and idyll.
