False Hare

David Gieselmann

Theatre Koblenz, season 23/24

Lisbeth Reimers receives a visit from her neighbour, police officer Reinhard Peters - not out of personal interest on his part, however, but for an official reason. The elderly lady has been calling the police every day for a fortnight to complain about the noise in her own flat. Noise that doesn't even exist. And then neighbour Peters always has to check on the noise - outside of office hours. He is now demanding an explanation for this ‘emergency call abuse’.

But he soon realises that Mrs Reimers is much better informed about Mr Peters' life than he would like. And suddenly it seems that it is not Lisbeth, but Reinhard Peters who is lonely and that his neighbour is only giving him a reason for his daily ‘visits’ to her out of care.

What begins as a chat at the front door develops more and more into a mutual interrogation and a battle that is conducted with subtle dialogue and surprising revelations.
